Sage ERP 500 open excel macro file?

    Hello,

I am a newbie at Accpac application. And I am not sure if this is the right forum. But I am trying to learn how to use it and I was wondering if Accpac 500 can open an excel macro file within Accpac. I know it can open a .rpt file store in it, but is there a way for Accpac to store and open (.xlsm/xls) macro?

    Thanks,

    Ekin

Accpac supports Microsoft VBA, the same macro language that Excel uses.

You can record VBA macros in Accpac (Macro, Start Recording / Stop Recording) and you can edit VBA macros (Macro, Edit) and modify the recorded macros to perform the tasks you require.

You can open Excel files via Accpac VBA and possibly run Excel macros, I have never done this because I have no need to do so - I will leave this up to you to test if you wish to do so.

My best advise is to work within Accpac VBA macros instead of attempting to run Excel macros within Accpac - that just adds a layer of complexity.

You can add desktop shortcuts to Excel files on the Accpac desktop (Object, New, Program and select the Excel file) and open Excel files from within Accpac, if your Excel macros are set to autorun then they will run when the Excel files are opened - dunno if that is what you are looking for.

Yes, that's exactly what I am looking for. Thank you for the help.
