    Reorder reports

Does anyone have any ideas about how to do a "fuzzy" reorder report?  In other words, if I have to place an order with Acme for widgets and gizmos (because they have fallen below my reorder points), I might like to know that dodads are almost at the reorder point so I can order those too at the same time.

It would be nice to be able to create a purchase order from I/C based on items being close to their reorder points rather than absolutely there.

I have built a number of these reports for clients using macros in Accpac. The fuzzy logic is in the macro, so if an item is within a % of the reorder level then place it on order, something like that

    Thanks Ettienne.

This is exactly what I'd like.  I do this now by accessing the Accpac tables through Excel and it works well for creating a report.  Doing it through Accpac directly so that one could create a PO through I/C would be much easier though.  (So, ideally, it's not just a report I'd like, but the ability to create POs through I/C using fuzzy logic.)

I know almost nothing about Accpac macros.  Do you have one you care to share?  And can you point me to a resource for learning about macros in Accpac?

    Re: Reorder reports

The macros I have are very client specific, i.e. the client uses certain locations, categories, optional fields and so on and unless your setup is the same they will not run. Besides everyone has their own idea of how to calculate the order quantities.

There are no resources for learning Accpac macros, the best starting point is to record a macro in Accpac and disect it. Accpac generates VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) code and this is similar to VB6, so if you know either then it is a walk in the park.
