Cdn Payroll 5.5 combine EFT Files

We are looking at utilizing the "Combine EFT Files" feature in our Cdn Payroll 5.5 in order to reduce banking fees.  What I can not determine from the literature is if this feature works when each company is using a different debiting bank account and when the EFT Bank ID is different in each company.

When attempting to combine one of the companies which had a EFT Bank ID different we got errors when opening the "Combine EFT Files", when we remove the company with the different EFT Bank ID the errors go away.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

We use it, but debit all our payrolls out of one bank account.  Our Bank (TD) told us we wouldn't save the charges if we debited multiple accounts, even if it came through in one file.  Is you bank allowing you to send one file to debit multiple accounts?

Yes our bank (HSBC) tells me that we can debit multiple accounts in one file thereby saving the monthly charge and the per EFT file charge, which can add up.

Since you are debiting one account your Bank IDs in each company must therefore be the same then.  I'm wondering if this is a flaw in the system or Accpac never expected users would want to combine multiple Bank IDs and bank accounts with this feature.

Actually, the bank IDs are the same, but the G/L accounts attached to each bank are (for the non-combining companies) intercompany accounts rather than actual bank accounts in the GL.  It works out nicely.
